Johanna grew up in Somerset County, New Jersey, where her family owned and
operated a local bicycle shop for over 25 years. It was there that Cordasco learned she loved working with her hands. She now lives in Philadelphia, works as a Studio Logistics Technician at JPS, and is a member of the Grizzly Grizzly Artist Collective. Cordasco holds a BFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts, with a concentration in Sculpture and minors in Art History and Psychology. She was selected to participate in Yale Norfolk (2021) received the Scott Cagenello Memorial Prize (2022) was a Studio Assistant at Penland School of Craft (2023), was a resident artist at the Sable Project (2025), and was part of the 2025 Pollinator cohort. Cordasco's artistic practice blends found-object sculpture with traditional craft and textile techniques. She is interested in the value of labor, the purposes and histories of objects, and the cycle of use and reuse. |
